Many times filling out a form needs to be accompanied by files such as a picture or resume that needs to be uploaded. Usually this is done at the end, once the form is completed, so the visitor needs to wait until the file completely uploads before proceeding. Upload in Background extension will save the user a lot of time, allowing completion of the form while the file is uploaded as a background procedure. Once the file is uploaded, a thumbnail will replace the upload box.

• Allows the file fields to start uploading the files to the server immediately after selecting the file that needs to be uploaded.
• Allows to speed up the process of sending the form data to the server, given that the files are being uploaded while the user is still finishing the rest of the form fields.
• When the file is fully uploaded, the file field is replaced by a thumbnail, if the uploaded file was an image, or a link, if it wasn't; besides, a button appears that allows to delete the uploaded file.
• If the delete button is pressed, the file is removed from the server, and the delete button as well as the thumbnail, or link, are replaced by the file field, ready to be used again.
• When a file is uploaded to the server, a hidden field is inserted in the form, with the same name as the file field that is being replaced, whose value is the path to the uploaded file.
• Upload In Background allows to limit the type of files that can be uploaded to the server, be selecting the allowed file extensions.
• When Upload in Background is inserted in a webpage, you will need to define the folder where the files will be copied to; this folder needs to have writing permissions.
• You will need to indicate which URL processes the form, this way Upload in Background takes care of intercepting the file being sent to the server and processing it. Users don't have to worry about processing the files sent with the form.
• Uses PHP script for the upload and processing of files, which is why PHP script must be enabled on the server where Upload in Background will be published.
